The narrative revolves around a powerful devil skilled in martial arts, whose ambition is to obtain enough strength to wield the sacred sword and engulf the world in darkness. To achieve this, he employs a clever tactic by using a Princess Doll as bait to lure a warrior—referred to as "you"—into his tower.

Throughout the gameplay, the devil initially disguises himself as a thief and offers assistance to the warrior. As the warrior ascends the tower, they engage in dialogue with the devil, revealing his nefarious intentions of plunging the world into darkness and demanding the surrender of the sacred sword, in conjunction with Beelzebub's wisdom scepter.

Unwilling to comply with these demands, the warrior confronts and ultimately defeats the devil. In doing so, they successfully save the world from impending doom.
